Dr Piet du Toit's Sonar Clinic

Dr Pieter du Toit joined the practice of Drs Rory Dower and Christine van Dyk at 72 York Street in July 2016 having moved to George from Welkom where he operated his own practice for the last 29 years after obtaining his medical degree at the Free State University.

Dr Du Toit established his Sonar Clinic and Baby Image Studio at the practice where he offers the latest Samsung sonar technology for 2D, 3D and 4D images. "Sonar images are a wonderful opportunity for parents to become acquainted and bond with their new. wonderful, little miracle," he says.

Sonar scans are done from 10 weeks on and while a good 2D scan is always important diagnostically, 3D and 4D scans ('live 3D') are excellent ways to observe the physical appearance as well as facial expressions of the baby. If required, he can also perform 5D sonar examinations of the limbs and extremities, the brain and heart, among others.

"I view every birth as a miracle and strive to render a sonar service like no other," says Dr Du Toit. His motto is, 'Safe mother, safe baby. Happy family, happy doctor'.
