Dr. LM Pretorius Orthodontist

Lourens Matthys Pretorius was born in Nelspruit and attended Laerskool Morgenzon. He completed his school education at Hoërskool Ermelo.

In 1976 he studied dentistry at the University of Pretoria.

* Then in 1983 he received his Honours in Dentistry and decided to join the National Army.
* After registration of his Master degree (Mdent) in 1984, he achieved his Orthodontic grade (M.ChD).
* He passed his degrees with special honours.
* He continues to educate post graduate students at the University of Pretoria.

By the end of 1989, Lourens decided to leave the Orthodontic department of I Military hospital. Then came the big step of opening his own practice. That happened in 1989 in Roodepoort, Western part of Gauteng. In 1993 Lourens got married to Saartjie, his right hand in setting up his practice. They both had a communal interest in farmery, breeding of parrots and garden design. Lourens enjoys self competitive sports, like cycling. He participates in the Argus and 94.7 cycling competitions annually to stay fit and healthy. He also enjoys to go water skiing and kayak riding.
