More about Daniell Cheetah Project

The aim of the project is to play a part in conservation of the Cheetah (Acinonyx Jubatus), the re-establishment of pure gene lines, as well as educating the public to the importance of conserving of this amazing species. The Daniell Cheetah Project was established in May 2001 and started with just three cats and has grown since.

We offer unique educational tours through the project by trained tour guides. On the tour you will be able to meet and learn more about Meerkats, Servals, Caracals, Cheetahs, Leopards, Lions and Hyenas. The tours are open daily from 09:00-16:00. During this tour guest will also be given the opportunity to enter a cheetah enclosure and if the moment allows it to pet a cheetah as well. We offer you two different tours; the Predator Tour and also the Cheetah Walk.

The Predator tour is R90 pp 14 years and up, R60 for kids ages 5-13, and free for kids 4 years and under. Children under the age of 14 as well as people shorter than 1.5m are not allowed in the enclosure with the cheetah.

The Cheetah Walk needs to be booked 2 days in advance and is R300pp, kids under 14 years are not allowed on the Walk.

Daniell Cheetah Project also has other attractions. At our Padstal and you can browse for gifts and African Arts at reasonable prices and at the Coffee Shop, tea and coffee and light meals can be ordered for take-away or sit-down meals.

Also next to the shop there are some orphaned wild animals guests can interact with - we now also have a touch farm for the small ones where they can play with bunnies and guinea pigs while varies birds (parrots, budgies, doves, etc.) fly around them.

We are open 7 days a week (except 25th & 26th December and January 1st), and can be found on the R75 national road, 40km from Uitenhage and just 80km from the Port Elizabeth airport.
