On the foothills of the Rooiberg Mountains lies The Cat and Cow Guest Farm, situated near Van Wyksdorp in the heart of the Klein Karoo. The Klein Karoo offers nothingness, which is increasingly valuable, in terms of space, silence and solitude. Urban people live in stressed societies… and the Karoo offers a healing experience. Warm days culminate into breath-taking sunsets and the magic of the night sky will leave you in awe.

Van Wyksdorp is a charming, small, quiet hideaway nestled between the Langeberg and Rooiberg mountains. The area can only be accessed by good gravel roads which indicates just how removed we are from the hustle and bustle.

Our farm offers an opportunity to live IN nature where the only sounds are those of birds, bees, crickets, frogs and the like. If you listen closely you may hear the call of the fish eagle that lives in our valley. At night the owl will return your ‘whoo whoo’ with an eager reply. And if you are really lucky you may wake from the call of the jackal in the distance announcing their passing through.
