About Kikuyu:
Kikuyu Grass has a reasonable low maintenance and has a wide adaption to wet and dry conditions.
Kikuyu lawn has a soft texture. If cared for correctly, it makes an outstanding lawn and has a deep to light green colour and forms a thick mat.
It is resistant to mowing and grazing due to its strong network of roots, which easily send up new shoots.
Low maintenance which is widely adapted.
Reacts well to fertilizer, especially Nitrogen.
Tolerant of cold.
Unfortunately Kikuyu does not grow well in shady areas.

Application for Kikuyu:
It forms a thick carpet, and apart from home lawns, it is also popular on rugby fields, sports fields and horse-riding tracks.
Kikuyu is a great choice for a family lawn and if the area is a sunny area.
Kikuyu is commonly used on golf courses since it is drought resistant and creates challenging rough.
Rehabilitation of environmental surfaces.
In addition, it is useful as pasture for livestock grazing and serves as a food source for many avian species.
